In this study, we present a modeling language, Metabolic Flux Analysis Markup Language (MFAML) level 2. It is designed for the formal representation of metabolic flux models, and also the open framework for the effective exchange of such models. As the successor of the MFAML level 1, it has advanced features to describe more sophisticated metabolic models; defining named compartment, pathway, pathway introduction, dynamic representation and mathematical formulae. In MFAML level 1, the static model is mainly expressed but, Level 2 extends the previous model representation and works with the dynamic information. In addition to these major changes, several other elements are present in Level 2.
