Democratic Civic Education which is referred to in this paper can be connected "Politische Bildung" or "Citizenship Education". Political Education means to provide opportunities to people who are the agents of the nation for learning and attaining some clear and accurate understanding and knowledge of political matters, and to assist people to participate in all the political processes, essential for preservation and development of democratic community.Qualitatively and quantitatively, Korean Democratic Civic Education has achieved much less than people have had expected. The major reason for this is that previous governments were not Democratic Civic Education in Korea has gone through constant ups and downs. Never the less, as Koreans' aspirations toward democracy are high, so the demands for Democratic Civic Education continue to grow. Korean people are seeking ways to democratize political education or to practice democratic citizenship education.The spread of democracy is not limited to the geographical level of regimes or nations. I believe that Korean Civic Education could rise to the occasion and take advantage of the opportunity to resolve or enhance the problematic onto a higher level by radically incorporating the idea of citizenship. For our nation to survive and prosper in the age of globalization and in an localization world, it is imperative that citizens, social groups, political parties, and public officials must learn to abandon the traditional and authoritarian way of thinking and complacent work attitude, and instead adopt the rational way of thinking, and a democratic consciousness and attitude that can lead to active participation in the problems of their communities.
