[Purpose] This study examined the award system and operational structure of the All-Joseon Bicycle Championships during the Japanese colonial period and identified their characteristics and significance in Korean sports history. [Method] The principal historical sources were articles on bicycle racing published in the Chosun Ilbo and Dong-A Ilbo from 1923 to 1940, the Park Seong-ryeol Competition Scrapbook (SB1), and the Park Seong-ryeol Competition Record Book (SB3). These sources were cross-checked and analyzed. [Results] Awards included championship flags, certificates, bicycles, watches, cash, and gift certificates, and were distributed according to rider classification and competition category. Athletic associations, youth organizations, bicycle trade associations, and riders' associations participated in organizing the competitions. Local merchants, companies, and local newspaper branches provided sponsorship, while transportation and accommodation discounts, entry-fee exemptions, and travel expenses were offered to support riders. [Conclusion] The award system linked riders' achievements and graded competition to rewards. The participation of various organizations, together with sponsorship and rider support, demonstrated the specific operational features of bicycle racing during the Japanese colonial period, thereby highlighting its significance in Korean sports history.

[목적] 본 연구는 일제강점기 전조선자전차경기대회의 시상 제도와 운영 체계를 분석하여 그 특징과 체육사적 의미를 규명하는 데 목적이 있다. [방법] 1923년부터 1940년까지 󰡔조선일보󰡕와 󰡔동아일보󰡕에 게재된 자전차 경기 관련 기사, ｢박성렬 경기스크랩북｣(SB1)과 ｢박성렬 경기기록부｣(SB3)를 주요 사료로 활용하여 교차 분석하였다. [결과] 시상품은 우승기와 상장, 자전차, 시계, 현금, 상품권 등으로 구성되었으며, 선수 등급과 경기 부문에 따라 차등 지급되었다. 대회 운영에는 체육회, 청년단, 윤업조합, 선수회 등이 참여하였고, 지역 상공인, 기업, 신문사 지국의 후원과 함께 교통 및 숙박 할인, 참가비 면제, 여비 지급 등의 선수 지원 사례가 확인되었다. [결론] 전조선자전차경기대회의 시상 제도는 선수의 성과와 등급별 경쟁을 보상에 연결하는 운영 장치였다. 또한, 다양한 조직의 참여와 후원 및 선수 지원은 당시 자전차 경기의 구체적인 운영 양상을 보여준다는 점에서 체육사적 의의를 지닌다.
