[Purpose] This study examines the historical transformation of Go-mu-jul-no-ri songs and analyzes the sociocultural context of their popularity across periods. [Method] Documentary sources, including the Encyclopedia of Korean Culture, the Encyclopedia of Korean Folk Culture, academic articles, and newspaper articles, were collected and analyzed, and semi-structured interviews were conducted with 16 individuals born between the 1950s and 2000s who experienced Go-mu-jul-no-ri. [Result] Go-mu-jul-no-ri songs evolved with shifting sociocultural environments, coexisting and selectively transforming rather than merely being replaced. Anti-communist and everyday songs prevailed around the Korean War; school-learned and oral songs dominated the 1960s–1970s; mass media songs were incorporated in the 1980s–1990s; and since the 2000s, informal oral transmission has shifted toward reproduction via broadcasting, education, and digital content. [Conclusion] Adapted to game movements, rules, and peer practices, these songs show how sociocultural changes were reflected in children's physical play. As informal physical culture in schoolyards and alleys, they offer valuable insights into modern Korean play culture.

[목적] 본 연구는 고무줄놀이 노래의 변천 과정을 역사적으로 고찰하고, 각 시기 노래 유행의 사회문화적 맥락과 그 의미를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. [방법] 한국민족문화대백과사전, 한국민속대백과사전, 학술논문, 신문기사 등 문헌자료를 수집·분석하였으며, 1950년대~2000년대 출생의 고무줄놀이 경험자 16명, 비경험자 1명을 대상으로 반구조화 면담을 실시하였다. [결과] 고무줄놀이 노래는 시대별 사회문화적 환경에 따라 변화하였으며, 기존 노래가 새로운 노래로 대체되기보다 다양한 노래가 공존하면서 선택적으로 전승·변형되는 양상이 나타났다. 한국전쟁 전후에는 반공노래와 생활동요가, 1960~1970년대에는 학교교육과 구전동요가, 1980~1990년대에는 대중매체를 통해 유입된 노래가 놀이에 활용되었으며, 2000년대 이후에는 일상적 구전 전승이 약화되고 방송·학교교육·디지털 콘텐츠를 통한 재현이 확대되었다. [결론] 고무줄놀이 노래는 놀이의 동작과 규칙, 또래집단의 방식에 따라 변형되면서 사회문화적 변화가 아동의 일상적 신체활동과 또래문화에 반영되고 재구성되는 과정을 보여주는 생활문화 자료이며, 학교 운동장과 골목 등에서 이루어진 비공식적 신체문화로서 한국 근현대 아동의 신체문화와 놀이문화를 이해하는 역사적 자료로서 의미가 있다.
