This study is aimed at addressing the need for artificial intelligence (AI) literacy within English for Specific Purposes (ESP) education in the hospitality industry. The study used the Coh-Metrix program to examine readability, lexical sophistication, and syntactic cohesion across ten linguistic dimensions in three hotel-English coursebooks. In the findings, the study revealed three constraint categories: weak referential and semantic overlap, elevated type-token ratios with late-acquired abstract vocabulary, and high noun phrase density with extended pre-verbal spans. Such features may increase processing demands, yet the coursebooks offer limited explicit support to help learners manage this increased load. Building on this corpus-informed gap, the study proposes an AI-enhanced scaffolding instructional model that maps each constraint category onto a targeted intervention. They are the AI Cohesion Auditor for referential and semantic overlap, the Controlled Glossary and Collocation Generator for lexical sophistication, the Two-Level Rewriter for syntactic density, and the Constraint-Based Prompt Designer, which synthesizes these skills into learner-directed AI use. Each intervention aligns with a corresponding AI literacy domain and is illustrated across reception, housekeeping, and food and beverage contexts. The study repurposes constraints unaddressed by coursebooks as training grounds for AI literacy development, offering a theoretically grounded approach that remains to be empirically validated.

The goals of Asia TEFL are to promote scholarship, disseminate information, and facilitate cross-cultural understanding among persons concerned with the teaching and learning of English in Asia. In order to accomplish this, Asia TEFL will pursue the following goals:
1. To link ELT professionals in joint research on issues and concerns regarding English teaching and learning in the Asian context.
2. To publish an academic journal, The Asia TEFL Journal, as an internationally recognized journal in the field of English language teaching.
3. To host conferences and seminars addressing important issues concerning ELT in Asia.
4. To develop proficiency guidelines and assessment methods designed for the needs of the Asian context.
5. To develop programs for Asian learners and teachers of English to build their English language proficiency and cultural understanding and provide them with the skills required to be efficient English teaching professionals.
