This study aimed to compare vegan and non-vegan lip makeup products in terms of the functional aspects of color development. The findings showed that vegan lip makeup products selected have lower color payoff compared to regular ones. In particular, lip tint formulations exhibited lower color development than lip stick formulations, indicating a need for technical improvement. Among colors, light shades such as pink and orange required more urgent technical improvement than dark brown shades. Therefore, continuous research and development are needed so that vegan lip makeup products can be recognized for excellence in color-development functionality as well as ingredient safety. This study is expected to serve as basic data for developing new products using diverse vegan ingredients and for revitalizing the vegan cosmetics market.

본 연구에서는 비건(vegan) 립 메이크업 제품과 일반(non-vegan) 립 메이크업 제품 간 색 발현의 기능적 측면을 비교 분석하고자 하였다. 연구 결과, 본 연구에서 선정한 비건 립 메이크업 제품이 비교 대상인 일반 립 메이크업 제품과 비교하여 발색력이 저하되는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 립스틱 제형보다 립틴트 제형의 발색력이 저하되어 이에 관한 기술적 보완이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 색상별로는 브라운 계열의 어두운 색상보다 핑크, 오렌지와 같은 연한 색상에서 발색력의 기술적 보완이 더 시급한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 비건 립 메이크업 제품이 원료의 안전성과 함께 발색력의 기능적 측면에서도 우수성을 인정받을 수 있도록 꾸준한 연구개발이 이루어져야 할 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구 결과가 다양한 비건 원료를 활용한 신제품 개발 및 비건 화장품 시장 활성화에 기초 자료로써 활용되기를 기대한다.
