This qualitative study explored the meanings and essential structure of nursing students’ experiences during clinical practicum in a hospice and palliative care unit. Ten fourth-year nursing students who completed a two-week practicum were interviewed, and Colaizzi’s descriptive phenomenological method was applied. The analysis yielded 53 formulated meanings, 13 theme clusters, and five categories: “Unfamiliarity and tension in the hospice and palliative care unit,” “Discovery of person-centered care,” “Participation in care in response to the needs of patients and families,” “Experiences of the dying process and final farewell,” and “Reflection on life and nursing.” Changes varied among participants, including new perspectives on nursing, reinforcement of existing values, and gradual expansion of understanding. Such practicums should include communication preparation for patients at the end of life and their families, opportunities for students to participate in care within their roles under nurses’ supervision, and post-practicum emotional support and structured reflection.

Ever since next generation convergence technology became one of the most important industries in the nation, computing professionals have encountered a growing number of challenges. Along with scholars and colleagues in related fields, they have gathered in avariety of forums and meetings over the last few decades to share their knowledge, experiences and the outcome of their research. These exchanges have led to the founding of the International Next-generation Convergence technology (INCA) on December 1, 2015. INCA was registered as an incorporated association under the Ministry of Information and Communications. The main purpose of the organization is to improve our society by achieving the highest capability possible in next generation convergence technology.
