Objective : To verify the combined effects of oral sensorimotor therapy and parental education on oral motor function in a child with Fukuyama Congenital Muscular Dystrophy (FCMD). Methods : Twenty-one sessions of oral sensorimotor therapy combined with parental education were provided to a child diagnosed with FCMD. The intervention effect size was calculated using Tau-U and the percentage of non-overlapping data (PND). Changes in oral motor function were assessed using the Oral Motor Assessment Scale (OMAS) and the Mastication Observation and Evaluation (MOE). Results : Complete intervention effects were observed across all three behaviors (Tau-U = 1.00, PND = 100%). Drooling decreased from 14.20 g to 0.46 g, lip closure duration improved from 0.67 to 20.27 seconds, and chewing frequency increased from 0 to a mean of 6.67 times. The total MOE score improved from 12 to 27, and the OMAS score improved from 5 to 19. Conclusion : The intervention effectively reduced drooling and improved lip closure and chewing function in a child with FCMD. The study contributed clinical evidence for FCMD, an area where research on oral motor function interventions is scarce. Importantly, the results suggest that parental education can support and enhance intervention outcomes.

목적 : 본 연구는 부모교육을 병행한 구강 감각운동 치료가 Fukuyama Congenital Muscular Dystrophy 아동의 구강 운동 기능에 미치는 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 연구방법 : Fukuyama Congenital Muscular Dystrophy 진단을 받은 1명을 대상으로 부모교육을 병행한 구강 감각운동 치료를 21회기 실시하였다. 중재 효과 크기는 Tau-U와 Percentage of Non-overlapping Data를 산출하였으며, Oral Motor Assessment Scale과 Mastication Observation and Evaluation으로 구강 운동 기능의 변화를 확인하였다. 결과 : 침흘림 양은 14.20g에서 0.46g으로 감소하였고, 입술 다물기 지속시간은 0.67초에서 20.27초로 향상되었으며, 씹기 횟수는 0회에서 6.67회로 향상되었다. 구강 운동 기능 점수는 Mastication Observation and Evaluation은 12점에서 27점으로, Oral Motor Assessment Scale은 5점에서 19점으로 향상되었다. 결론 : 본 연구 결과, Fukuyama Congenital Muscular Dystrophy 아동의 침흘림 감소, 입술 다물기 및 씹기 기능 향상에 효과적인 중재임이 확인되었다. 또한, 구강 운동 기능 중재에 관한 근거가 부족한 Fukuyama Congenital Muscular Dystrophy 영역에서 임상적 근거를 제공하였으며, 부모교육의 병행이 중재 효과를 지지할 수 있음을 시사한다.
