Recently, concerns about regional extinction have been raised due to low birth rates and population decline in local cities. Based on this situation, the purpose of this study was to identify the living environment factors necessary for women aged 20 to 39 living in local cities to have residential intentions. The analysis results are summarized as follows. First, since the target of the extinction risk index is women in their 20s and 30s, it is necessary to create a differentiated residential living environment that takes them into consideration. Second, in areas with a moderate risk of extinction, satisfaction with jobs and convenience facilities were found to be important. Third, in the case of areas with a high risk of extinction, it was found to be sensitive to overall environmental pollution, so active measures against environmental pollution are needed. Fourth, in areas with a high risk of extinction, leisure activities were found to be important for the intention to settle down, and the use of public transportation was also found to be important. The results of this study can be used as basic data when establishing response measures against regional extinction in the future.
