Due to the declining youth population, the gap in troop strength between South Korea and North Korea will widen not only now but in the future as well, and the Army’s numerical disadvantage will inevitably worsen a s a result. Furthermore, as t he working-age population d eclines, GDP g rowth will s low, w hich i s expected to place significant constraints on defense spending going forward. To confront a numerically superior enemy with such limited defense budgets and inferior troop strength, it is essential to enhance the combat capabilities of individual soldiers and units. At the same time, rational force modernization is necessary based on established priority criteria. Accordingly, this study proposes priorities for the Warrior Platform by utilizing the five major combat systems. The priority order is protection-see first-decide first-act first-support, as demonstrated through a review of existing research and literature, including U.S. Army manuals. Furthermore, equipment suitable for use within the five major combat systems was identified to facilitate future Warrior Platform development.

청년층 인구감소로 인해 현재는 물론 앞으로 북한과의 병력격차는 더욱 심해질 것이며, 이로 인한 육군의 병력열세도 더욱 악화될 수 밖에 없다. 또한 생산가능인구도 감소함에 따라 GDP 상승률도 둔화될 것이며, 이는 앞으로도 국방비에 많은 제한을 줄 것으로 예상된다. 이와 같이 제한된 국방비와 열세한 병력으로 다수의 적을 상대하기 위해서는 개인 전투원과 부대의 전투력을 향상시켜야만 한다. 동시에 우선순위 기준을 마련해 합리적인 전력화가 필요하다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 5대 전투체계를 활용해 워리어플랫폼의 우선순위를 제시하였다. 우선순위는 방호-선견-선결-선타-지원체계 순이며, 기존연구와 미 육군 교범 등 문헌연구를 통해 증명하였다. 그리고 5대 전투체계에 사용될 수 있는 장비를 제시하여 향후 워리어플랫폼 개발에 활용할 수 있도록 하였다.
