This study investigates the structural and optical randomness of InP/ZnSe/ZnS Core/Shell quantum dots for hardware security applications. Blue, green, and red emitting QDs were synthesized and mixed with IBXA. The QDs syrup was bar-coated to form a 50 ㎛-thick active layer sandwiched between 50 ㎛ PET films and UV cured. Cross-sectional SEM revealed irregular micro-scale QD clusters formed by uneven fluid dynamics during processing, creating unreplicable structural entropy. The hybrid film exhibited a unique multi-peak PL spectrum with ten independent peaks without mutual interference. The combination of unpredictable microscopic spatial distribution and the ten-wavelength spectral fingerprint offers a vast combination of cryptographic keys. These findings demonstrate that the proposed multicolor QD film possesses high physical randomness and significant potential as a toxic-free, flexible optical Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) medium.
