This study aims to empirically examine the effects of generative AI ethics perception among college students majoring in design on responsible continuous use intention, perceived critical use competence, and generative AI overdependence. To this end, the effects of generative AI ethics perception (transparency, accountability, human autonomy, and privacy protection) on responsible continuous use intention, perceived critical use competence, and generative AI overdependence were analyzed among 154 college students majoring in design. Multiple regression analysis of the online survey data showed that the four factors of ethics perception generally had significant positive (+) effects on responsible continuous use intention and perceived critical use competence, but had no direct effect on generative AI overdependence. Perceived critical use competence had a significant negative (−) effect on generative AI overdependence. This indicates that while ethics perception contributes to the formation of attitudes and competencies, mitigating overdependence requires perceived critical use competence as a practical competency. These results suggest that generative AI ethics education should go beyond conveying ethical principles and also foster critical thinking competence, and provide empirical evidence for developing design education curricula.

본 연구는 디자인 전공 대학생을 대상으로 생성형 AI 윤리성 인식이 책임 있는 지속적 활용의도, 지각된 비판적 활용역량 및 생성형 AI 과의존에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 규명하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 디자인 전공 대학생 154명을 대상으로 생성형 AI 윤리성 인식(투명성, 책임성, 인간 자율성, 개인정보 보호)이 책임 있는 지속적 활용의도, 지각된 비판적 활용역량, 생성형 AI 과의존에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 온라인 설문 자료를 다중회귀분석으로 검증한 결과, 윤리성 인식 4요인은 책임있는 지속적 활용의도와 지각된 비판적 활용역량에 대체로 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤으나, 과의존에는 직접적 영향을 미치지 않았다. 반면 지각된 비판적 활용역량은 생성형 AI 과의존에 유의한 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 윤리성 인식이 태도와 역량 형성에는 기여하지만, 과의존 완화에는 실천적 역량인 지각된 비판적 활용역량이 뒷받침되어야 함을 보여준다. 이러한 결과는 생성형 AI 윤리 교육이 원칙 전달을 넘어 비판적 사고 역량을 함께 길러야 함을 시사하며, 디자인 교육 커리큘럼을 구성하는 데 필요한 구체적인 실증 자료를 제시했다는 데 의미가 있다.
