유산균 발효에 따른 씀바귀 추출물의 항산화 및 미백 활성 증진 효과
Enhancement of Antioxidant and Skin-Whitening Activities of Ixeris dentata Extract by Lactic Acid Bacteria Fermentation
This study evaluated the effects of lactic acid bacteria fermentation on the antioxidant and whitening activities of Ixeris dentata extract. The extract was fermented using Lactiplantibacillus plantarum KCTC 3108, and its biological activities were compared before and after fermentation. Fermentation significantly increased the total phenolic and flavonoid contents and decreased the EC50 values of DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities. These results indicate that the fermented extract exhibited effective radical scavenging activity at lower concentrations. The fermented extract also enhanced mushroom tyrosinase inhibitory activity and reduced α-MSH-induced melanin and tyrosinase production in B16F10 cells. In the cytotoxicity assay, cell viability remained above 80% at concentrations up to 500 μg/mL. These results suggest that fermented Ixeris dentata extract may be useful as a natural antioxidant and whitening cosmetic ingredient.

본 연구는 유산균 발효가 씀바귀 추출물의 항산화 및 미백 활성에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 씀바귀 추출물은 Lactiplantibacillus plantarum KCTC 3108로 발효하였으며, 발효 전후의 생리활성을 비교하였다. 발효 후총 폴리페놀 및 플라보노이드 함량은 유의적으로 증가하였고, DPPH와 ABTS radical scavenging activity의 EC50값은 감소하였다. 이는 발효 씀바귀 추출물이 더 낮은 농도에서도 효과적인 radical scavenging activity를 나타냄을 의미한다. 또한 발효 씀바귀 추출물은 mushroom tyrosinase inhibitory activity를 증가시켰으며, B16F10 세포에서 α-MSH로 유도된 melanin 및 tyrosinase 생성을 감소시켰다. 세포독성 평가에서는 500 μg/mL 이하 농도에서 세포 생존율이 80% 이상 유지되었다. 따라서 유산균 발효 씀바귀 추출물은 천연 항산화 및 미백 기능성 소재로서 활용 가능성이 있는 것으로 판단된다.
