This descriptive study aimed to verify the mediating effect of clinical practice confidence on the relationship between problem-solving ability and clinical competence among nursing students. Data were collected from November 10 to December 10, 2025, involving 108 fourth-year nursing students who had completed their clinical practicum in G city. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 30.0 and the PROCESS Macro (Model 4). The findings revealed significant positive correlations among problem-solving ability, clinical practice confidence, and clinical competence. Furthermore, clinical practice confidence was found to partially mediate the effect of problem-solving ability on clinical competence. This study is significant in elucidating the structural relationship between the cognitive and psychological factors that explain the clinical competence of pre-licensure nurses. Based on these results, to maximize clinical competence, it is necessary to develop multifaceted practical training and simulation programs that not only enhance problem-solving abilities but also foster clinical practice confidence.

본 연구는 간호대학생의 문제해결능력이 임상수행능력에 미치는 영향에서 임상실습 자신감의 매개효과를 검증한 서술적 조사연구이다. G시에 소재한 대학의 임상실습을 이수한 4학년 간호대학생 108명을 대상으로 2025년 11월 10일부터 12월 10일까지 자료를 수집하였으며, SPSS 30.0과 PROCESS Macro의 Model 4를 활용해 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 문제해결능력, 임상실습 자신감, 임상수행능력 간에는 유의한 정적 상관관계가 나타났다(r=.563∼.761, p<.001). 또한 임상실습 자신감은 문제해결능력이 임상수행능력에 미치는 영향을 부분 매개효과가 확인되었다(Indirect effect=.297, 95% CI [.167, .431]). 본 연구는 예비간호사의 임상수행능력을 설명하는 인지적·심리적 요인 간의 경로를 규명하였다는 데 의의가 있다. 결론적으로 임상수행능력을 극대화하기 위해서는 문제해결능력 배양과 더불어 임상실습 자신감을 고취할 수 있는 다각적인 실습 교육 및 시뮬레이션 프로그램 개발이 요구된다.
