V2X communication, a cornerstone of autonomous driving, is highly vulnerable to various cybersecurity threats such as spoofing and Sybil attacks. Existing IEEE 1609.2 cryptographic standards have inherent limitations in the real-time detection of emerging threats (zero-day attacks) and insider anomalies. Accordingly, this study systematically classifies major security threats in the V2X environment and analyzes the latest technological trends in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML)-based Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS). In particular, by comparing and examining defense mechanisms based on algorithmic characteristics-including machine learning, deep learning, and federated learning-this paper provides practical and policy guidelines for establishing robust, next-generation autonomous vehicle security architectures.

자율주행의 핵심인 V2X 통신은 스푸핑, 시빌 공격 등 다양한 사이버 보안 위협에 취약하며, 기존 IEEE 1609.2 암호화 표준만으로는 신종 위협(제로데이 공격)과 내부자 이상 행동을 실시간으로 탐지하는 데 한계가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 V2X 환경의 주요 보안 위협을 체계적으로 분류하고, 이를 방어하기 위한 인공지능(AI) 및 기계학습(ML) 기반 침입탐지시스템(IDS)의 최신 기술 동향을 분석한다. 특히 기계학습, 딥러닝, 연합학습(Federated Learning) 등 알고리즘 특성에 따른 방어 메커니즘을 비교 고찰함으로써, 차세대 자율주행 보안 네트워크 구축을 위한 실무적·정책적 가이드라인을 제시한다.
