With the continuous development of China's original comics industry, the international circulation of Chinese comics has become an important pathway for disseminating Chinese culture globally. This study takes the comic Biao Ren as its research subject and analyzes it from two dimensions: cultural symbols and international communication. By integrating perspectives from semiotics and communication studies, the study examines how Chinese traditional culture is expressed in a contemporary form through character construction, narrative structure, artistic style, and visual elements such as costume, weaponry, and architecture. At the level of cultural symbols, Biao Ren incorporates the spirit of wuxia, Confucian and Daoist philosophies, and historical-cultural imagery into its narrative, thereby constructing a visual narrative system with distinctive Chinese cultural characteristics. In terms of international communication, the work enhances its global visibility and cross-cultural accessibility through multilingual translation, digital platform distribution, and participatory audience engagement. This study argues that the value of Biao Ren lies in its ability to transform culturally specific elements into visual experiences and emotional resources that are accessible across cultures. In doing so, it provides meaningful implications for the international circulation of Chinese comics.

중국 창작만화 산업의 지속적 발전과 함께, 국만의 국제 전파는 중화문화를 대외적으로 확산하는 중요한 경로 가운데 하나가 되었다. 본 연구는 만화 《표인(镖人)》을 대상으로 문화기호와 국제전파라는 두 차원에서 작품을 분석하고, 기호학과 전파학의 시각을 결합하여 인물 형상화, 서사 구조, 미술 양식, 그리고 복식·병기·건축 등 시각 요소를 통해 중국 전통문화가 어떻게 현대적으로 표현되는지를 고찰하였다. 문화기호의 측면에서 《표인》은 무협정신, 유가와 도가 사상, 역사문화적 이미지를 만화 서사에 유기적으로 융합하여 중국적 특성이 뚜렷한 시각서사 체계를 구축하였다. 국제전파의 측면에서는 다국어 번역, 디지털 플랫폼 유통, 수용자의 참여적 확산을 통해 해외 가시성과 문화 간 수용 가능성을 높였다. 본 연구는 《표인》의 가치가 문화적 특수성을 문화 간 이해가 가능한 시각 경험과 정서 자원으로 전환한 데 있으며, 이는 중국 만화의 국제전파에 유의미한 시사점을 제공한다고 본다.
