This descriptive study examined the association among social network addiction, upward comparative tendency, and depressive symptoms in female nursing students. Participants were 136 third-year and fourth-year nursing students from a university in a D metropolitan city. Data were collected between August 23, 2024 and January 15, 2025 using structured questionnaires. Analyses included descriptive statistics, independent t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlations coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results showed that depressive symptoms differed significantly according to academic year(t=3.15, p=.002) and duration of SNS use(F=12.06, p<.001). Depressive symptoms were significantly positively correlated with social network addiction(r=.24, p=.006) and upward comparative tendency(r=.48, p<.001). Significant predictors of depressive symptoms were upward comparative tendency(β=.40, p<.001), duration of social network use (β=.27, p<.001), and academic year(β=-.22, p=.002), with an overall explanatory power of 34.2%. These findings highlight the need for interventions addressing upward comparative tendency and social network use among female nursing students, as well as further research to examine differences in depressive symptoms according to academic year.

본 연구는 여자 간호대학생의 소셜네트워크 중독경향성 및 상향비교 성향이 우울 증상에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구 대상자는 D 광역시 소재 간호학과에 재학 중인 3, 4학년 여자 간호대학생 136명이었으며, 자료는 2024년 8월 23일부터 2025년 1월 15일까지 구조화된 설문지를 통해 수집되었다. 자료분석은 기술통계, 독립표본 t-검정, 일원배치 분산분석, 피어슨 상관계수, 단계적 다중회귀분석을 이용하였다. 연구결과 대상자의 우울 증상은 학년(t=3.15, p=.002), SNS 사용기간(F=12.06, p<.001)에 따라 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 대상자의 우울 증상은 SNS 중독경향성(r=.24, p=.006)과 상향비교 성향(r=.48, p<.001)은 유의한 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 또한 대상자의 우울 증상에 영향을 미치는 요인은 상향비교 성향(β=.40, p<.001), SNS 사용기간(β=.27, p<.001), 학년(β=-.22, p=.002) 순으로 나타났으며, 모형의 전체 설명력은 34.2%로 나타났다. 따라서 간호대학생의 상향비교 성향과 SNS 사용 특성을 고려한 우울 중재 프로그램 개발이 필요하며, 학년에 따른 우울 차이에 대한 추가 연구가 필요할 것으로 생각된다.
