The increasing number of students with diabetes in schools highlights the importance of school nurses' competencies in effective health management and problem-solving. This exploratory study examined the influence of school nurses' perception of diabetes management and Self-efficacy on their problem-solving ability. Data were collected from May 26 to May 30, 2025, and 127 responses were analyzed. Descriptive statistics were used to identify the characteristics of each variable, and Pearson's correlation coefficients were used to assess relationships among variables. Hierarchical regression analysis was conducted to determine the effects of perception of diabetes management and Self-efficacy on problem-solving ability. The average score for perception of diabetes management was 4.78±1.66, Self-efficacy was 6.06±1.09 (both on a 7-point scale), and problem-solving ability was 3.91±0.65 (on a 5-point scale). We found significant positive correlations among the three variables. After controlling for sociodemographic factors such as age and clinical experience, both perception of diabetes management and Self-efficacy remained significant predictors of problem-solving ability. The final regression model explained 41% of the variance in problem-solving ability (F=18.44, p<.001). These findings suggest that enhancing school nurses' perception of diabetes management and Self-efficacy is critical to improving their problem-solving ability. We suggest that educational and organizational support should be strengthened to promote these competencies and ensure effective diabetes care in school settings.

학교 내 당뇨병 학생의 증가는 보건교사의 체계적인 건강관리와 문제해결 능력의 중요성을 더욱 강조하고 있다. 본 연구는 보건교사를 대상으로 학교 내 당뇨병 학생 관리에 대한 인식과 자기효능감이 문제해결 능력에 미치는 영향을 확인한 탐색적 조사연구이다. 자료는 2025년 5월 26일부터 5월 30일까지 수집되었으며, 총 127부를 최종 분석에 활용하였다. 각 변수는 빈도, 백분율, 평균, 표준편차로 분석하고, 변수 간 상관관계는 피어슨 상관계수, 인식과 자기효능감이 문제해결 능력에 미치는 영향은 위계적 회귀분석으로 확인하였다. 연구결과, 당뇨병 학생 관리에 대한 인식은 7점 만점에 평균 4.78±1.66점, 자기효능감은 7점 만점에 6.06±1.09점, 문제해결 능력은 5점 만점에 3.91±0.65점으로 나타났으며, 우리는 이들 세 변수 간에는 유의한 정적 상관관계가 있음을 확인하였다. 연령, 임상경력 등 인구사회학적 요인을 통제한 후에도 당뇨병 학생 관리에 대한 인식과 자기효능감은 문제해결 능력에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 본 모형은 문제해결 능력 변량의 41%(F=18.44, p<.001)를 설명하였다. 우리는 이러한 결과를 통해 보건교사의 문제 해결 능력 향상을 위해 당뇨병 학생 관리에 대한 인식 제고와 자기효능감 증진이 중요하며, 이를 지원할 수 있는 교육과 조직적 기반 마련이 필요함을 제시한다.
