The purpose of this study is to verify the validity and reliability of a tool designed to measure the concept of social interest based on Adlerian theory. To comprehensively measure the multidimensional attributes of social interest, this study utilized a 42-item Social Interest Scale, whose content validity was established through a Delphi study by Hyo-Jeong Kang and Mi-kyung Jin(2025). Based on this, the construct validity, criterion validity, and reliability of the social interest scale were verified among 473 undergraduate students from four-year universities nationwide. To verify criterion validity, scales measuring empathy, life meaning, and psychological well-being were used, and the collected data were analyzed using SPSS 28.0 and Mplus 8.30. Confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the fit indices for a hierarchical four-factor structure-comprising one superordinate factor(social interest) and four subfactors(sense of connection, contribution, social optimism, and altruistic interest)-were at an acceptable level. Eighteen of the 42 items were deleted, resulting in a final scale of 24 items. The social interest scale demonstrated valid criterion-related validity by showing significant positive correlations with scales measuring empathy, meaning in life, and psychological well-being; the overall internal consistency of the social interest scale was α = .92. Unlike previous studies, we confirmed that four sub-factors reflecting the multidimensional nature of social interest are hierarchically structured under the superordinate factor of social interest. Based on this, we have established a foundation for assessing an individual's social interest and expect this tool to serve as a comprehensive means of evaluating the characteristics of an individual's relationships with others and the community.

본 연구는 아들러 이론 기반 사회적 관심 개념을 측정하는 도구의 타당도와 신뢰도를 검증하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 사회적 관심의 다차원적 속성을 포괄적으로 측정하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 강효정과 진미경(2025)이 델파이 연구를 통해 내용타당도를 확보한 총 42문항의 사회적 관심 척도를 사용하였다. 이를 바탕으로 전국 4년제 대학생 473명을 대상으로 사회적 관심 척도의 구인타당도, 준거타당도 및 신뢰도를 검증하였다. 준거타당도 검증을 위해 공감 척도, 삶의 의미 척도, 심리적 안녕감 척도를 사용하였으며 수집된 자료는 SPSS 28.0과 Mplus. 8.30으로 분석하였다. 확인적 요인분석을 실시한 결과, 1개의 상위요인(사회적 관심)과 4개의 하위요인(연결감, 기여, 사회적 낙관성, 이타적 관심)으로 구성된 위계적 4요인 구조의 적합도 지수가 수용 가능한 수준임을 확인하였으며, 42문항 중 18문항이 삭제되어 최종 24문항이 도출되었다. 사회적 관심 척도는 공감, 삶의 의미, 심리적 안녕감 척도 간의 유의미한 정적 상관을 보여 준거타당도가 검증되었으며, 사회적 관심 척도의 전체 내적 합치도는 α=.92로 나타났다. 우리는 기존 연구와 달리 사회적 관심의 다차원적 속성을 반영한 4개의 하위요인이 상위요인인 사회적 관심과 위계적으로 구성됨을 확인하였다. 이를 바탕으로 개인의 사회적 관심을 평가하는 기초를 마련하였으며 개인이 타인 및 공동체와 맺는 관계의 특성을 종합적으로 평가하는 도구로 기능할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
