"Geng Zhi Tu" is the first picture album of agricultural science in the world. It is of great significance to the spread of agricultural technology and the idea of running a country, and has rich social and cultural values. Jiao Bingzhen's "Geng Zhi Tu" has gained remarkable attention for its integration of Chinese and Western art and technological innovations, becoming a critical symbol of cross-cultural communication. To conduct an in-depth analysis of the artistic connotation and cultural significance of Jiao Bingzhen's Gengzhi Tu, and to unpack its critical value in the dimensions of agrarian culture, social institutions, and didactic function, this paper adopts Erwin Panofsky's theory of iconology as its core analytical framework, and carries out a systematic and in-depth investigation through three canonical levels of the theory: pre-iconographical description, iconographical analysis, and iconological interpretation. Through the iconological analysis of Gengzhi Tu, this paper clarifies the core value of the work in agrarian culture, social institutions, and didactic function, and completes a thorough deconstruction of its artistic connotation and cultural significance. This research not only provides a brand-new academic perspective and analytical approach for studies on Gengzhi Tu and related fields, but also offers valuable reference for the academic community to further deepen the understanding of ancient Chinese agrarian culture

세계 최초의 농업 과학기술 보급 화첩으로 간주되는 「경직도」는 농업 기술 및 치국 이념의 전파에 중요한 의미가 있고 풍부한 사회문화적 가치도 지니고 있다. 초병정(焦秉貞)의 「경직도」는 중국·서양 예술과 기술 혁신을 한데 융합시켜 많은 주목을 받으면서 다문화적인 교류의 중요한 상징으로 자리매김하였다. 본고는 초병정 「경직도」의 예술적 내포와 문화적 의미를 심도 있게 해석하고 농경문화, 사회 제도 및 교화 기능 측면에서 이 작품이 갖고 있는 중요한 가치를 밝히기 위하여 에르빈 파노프스키의 도상학 이론을 연구 프레임워크로 삼아 전도상지(前圖像志)적 기술, 도상지적 분석, 도상학적 해석, 이 3가지 차원을 통해 초병정의 「경직도」에 대해 심층적인 연구를 진행한다. 따라서 「경직도」에 대한 도상학적 분석을 통해 농경문화, 사회 제도 및 교화 기능 측면 중 이 작품의 핵심적인 가치를 명확히 하여 그 예술적 내포와 문화적 의미에 대한 심도 있는 해석을 완성함으로써 「경직도」 관련 연구 분야에 참신한 시각과 맥락적 사고를 제공하는 동시에 학계에서 중국 고대 농경문화를 심층적으로 이해하는 데 유용한 참고적 자료를 제공한다.
