The purpose of this study is to analyze the major controversial issues of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics using big data. To this end, 204 related media reports were collected through the Big Kines of the Korea Press Promotion Foundation, and text mining and semantic network analysis were conducted using the KoNLPy (Okt), NetworkX, and Python-louvain libraries using Python 3.13. Specifically, through frequency analysis and TF-IDF analysis, the appearance pattern of major words and the importance within the document were confirmed, and connection centrality, mediation centrality, and proximity centrality were calculated by establishing a co-occurrence network. In addition, a major issue cluster was derived through the analysis of the Luvain community. As a result, there were four major controversial issues of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics: short track and judgment issues, opening ceremony and political issues, war and human rights issues, and performance and sports issues. In the short track and judgment issue, it was found that the conflict and judgment controversy between Korean and Chinese athletes had the greatest impact. At the opening ceremony and political issue, the controversy over JTBC's exclusive broadcasting and diplomatic issues between the US and Italy emerged as the political context surrounding the Olympics. In terms of war and human rights issues, the Russia-Ukraine war was also a major issue in this competition, and in terms of grades and sports issues, performances and broadcasting controversies in various events such as ice speed, figure, and snowboarding were dealt with. These results are expected to be used as basic academic data for research on Olympic issues and setting the direction of media coverage.

본 연구의 목적은 빅데이터를 활용하여 2026 밀라노-코르티나 동계올림픽의 주요 논란 이슈를 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 한국언론진흥재단의 빅카인즈를 통해 관련 언론 보도 204건을 수집하였고, Python 3.13을 활용하여 KoNLPy(Okt), NetworkX, python-louvain 라이브러리를 활용하여 텍스트마이닝 및 의미연결망 분석을 실시하였다. 구체적으로 빈도분석과 TF-IDF 분석을 통해 주요 단어의 출현 양상과 문서 내 중요도를 확인하였고, 공출현 네트워크를 구축하여 연결중심성, 매개중심성, 근접중심성을 산출하였다. 또한 Louvain 커뮤니티 분석을 통해 주요 이슈 군집을 도출하였다. 그 결과 2026 밀라노-코르티나 동계올림픽의 주요 논란 이슈는 쇼트트랙·판정 이슈, 개막식·정치 이슈, 전쟁·인권 이슈, 성적·종목 이슈 크게 4가지로 나타났다. 쇼트트랙·판정 이슈에서는 한국과 중국 선수 간의 충돌 및 판정 논란이 가장 큰 반향을 일으킨 것으로 나타났다. 개막식·정치 이슈에서는 JTBC 독점 중계 논란과 미·이탈리아 간 외교 현안이 올림픽을 둘러싼 정치적 맥락으로 부각되었다. 전쟁·인권 이슈에서는 러시아-우크라이나 전쟁 상황이 이번 대회에도 주요 이슈로 작용하였으며, 성적·종목 이슈에서는 빙속, 피겨, 스노보드 등 다양한 종목의 성적과 중계 논란이 함께 다루어졌다. 이러한 결과는 올림픽 이슈 연구 및 미디어 보도 방향 설정에 기초 학술 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
