This study examined the levels of job stress, sleep quality, and depression among firefighters and explored the relationships among these variables. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 132 firefighters working in Region B. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation analysis with SPSS version 29.0. Significant differences were found according to sex for depression (p=0.034), age for job stress (p=0.013), and subjective health status for job stress (p=0.040), sleep quality (p<0.001), and depression (p<0.001). Job stress showed significant positive correlations with sleep quality (r=0.480, p<0.001) and depression (r=0.472, p<0.001), and sleep quality was also significantly correlated with depression (r=0.694, p<0.001). These findings suggest that job stress, sleep quality, and depression are closely interrelated mental health factors among firefighters. Integrated interventions focusing on stress management, sleep improvement, and mental health screening are needed to promote occupational health and organizational stability. This study provides empirical evidence for developing comprehensive mental health management strategies for firefighters.

본 연구는 소방공무원의 직무 스트레스, 수면의 질, 우울 수준을 파악하고 이들 변수 간의 관련성을 규명하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 B지역 소방서에 근무하는 소방공무원 132명으로 구조화된 설문지를 활용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 29.0 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도분석, 기술통계, 독립표본 t-검정, 일원배치분산분석, 피어슨 상관분석으로 분석하였다. 일반적 특성에 따른 차이는 성별에서 우울(p=0.034), 연령에서 직무 스트레스(p=0.013), 주관적 건강상태에서 직무 스트레스(p=0.040), 수면의 질(p<0.001), 우울(p<0.001)에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 상관분석 결과, 직무 스트레스는 수면의 질(r=0.480, p<0.001) 및 우울(r=0.472, p<0.001)과 정적 상관관계를 나타냈고, 수면의 질과 우울 간에도 강한 정적 상관관계(r=0.694, p<0.001)가 확인되었다. 소방공무원의 직무 스트레 스, 수면의 질, 우울은 상호 밀접히 연관된 핵심 정신건강 요인으로 통합적 관리전략이 요구된다. 본 연구 결과, 스트레스 관리, 수면개선 프로그램, 정신건강 선별검사 체계 구축을 위한 근거자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
