Objectives This study aims to provide an overview of the research trends and academic landscape within the regional sports industry by analyzing the frequency, importance, and clustering of key terms in papers registered on RISS, Korea's largest academic information database, between 2014 and 2024. The findings are intended to serve as foundational data for proposing future academic directions in this field. Methods This study collected 148 academic papers related to the "regional sports industry" from RISS, published between 2014 and 2024. Text mining and TF-IDF analysis were subsequently performed using TextoM, followed by semantic network and CONCOR analyses utilizing UCINET 6.0 and NetDraw. Results Research on the regional sports industry in Korea has frequently featured keywords such as "sports industry," "development," "utilization," "sports tourism," "impact," "policy," and "visitors," with "public data," "sports tourism," "public institutions," and "visitors" emerging as particularly significant. A CONCOR analysis further indicates that studies have focused on topics related to regional sports tourism, sustainable regional sports industry, and regional golf courses. Conclusions Existing research has been limited in its ability to explain long-term effects due to its reliance on single events, cross-sectional analyses, and restricted variable sets. Future research should therefore aim to propose sustainable growth strategies by integrating regionally specific sports resources with tourism, developing long-term operational strategies, verifying the impact of governance and policy, conducting comparative analyses across different groups, and utilizing big data for longitudinal studies.

본 연구는 2014년부터 2024년까지 학술연구정보서비스(RISS)에 등재된 지역 스포츠산업 관련 논문을 대상으로 텍스트마이닝 기반의 빅데이터 분석을 수행하여 국내 연구동향과 주제 구조를 체계적으로 분 석하였다. 이를 위해 ‘지역 스포츠산업’ 관련 논문 148편을 수집하여 키워드 빈도분석, TF-IDF 분석, 의미연결망분석 및 CONCOR 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 국내 지역 스포츠산업 연구는 스포츠산업, 발전, 활용, 스포츠관광, 영향, 정책, 방문객과 같은 키워드 빈도가 높았으며, 공공데이터, 스포츠관광, 공 공기관, 방문객의 키워드가 중요한 것으로 나타났다. CONCOR 분석을 통해 지역 스포츠관광, 지속가능 한 지역 스포츠산업, 지역 골프장 관련 주제의 연구가 이루어진 것을 알 수 있다. 한편, 기존 연구는 단 일 이벤트 중심 분석, 횡단면적 연구 설계, 제한된 변수 설정으로 인해 장기적 효과와 구조적 성과를 충 분히 설명하는 데 한계를 지니고 있었다. 이에 따라 향후 연구에서는 지역 특화 스포츠자원과 관광의 융 합, 스포츠시설 및 이벤트의 장기 운영 전략, 거버넌스 및 정책 효과에 대한 실증 검증, 집단별 비교 분 석, 그리고 빅데이터 기반 종단 연구를 통해 지역 스포츠산업의 지속가능한 성장 전략을 제시할 필요가 있다.
