This study, a secondary data analysis using data from the 20th (2024) Youth Health Behavior Survey conducted by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, aimed to explore factors that increase the risk of suicide in adolescents and identify variables that should be prioritized. The study subjects were middle and high school students who participated in the study, and data from 54,597 students were used in the analysis. The research results showed that the factors affecting the suicide risk of adolescents were in the following order: ‘anxiety (β=0.227)’, ‘sadness and despair (β=0.186)’, ‘experience of treatment due to violence (β=0.125)’, ‘loneliness (β=0.087)’, ‘perceived stress (β=0.048)’, ‘sexual experience (β=0.037)’, ‘smoking experience (β=0.026)’, ‘drinking experience (β=0.023)’, ‘residence type (β =0.020)’, and ‘economic level (β=0.014)’. The explanatory power of the variables in question on the suicide risk of adolescents was 23.3%. When comparing the influences among the variables, the most powerful influencing factor was the adolescents’ anxiety, and the other highly influential factors were sadness and despair, and experience of treatment due to exposure to violence. Therefore, we suggest that when developing strategies to reduce the risk of suicide in adolescents in the future, it is necessary to give priority to adolescents' anxiety, sadness and despair, and experiences of exposure to violence.

본 연구는 2024년 질병관리청에서 조사한 제20차 청소년 건강행태조사 원자료를 이용한 2차 자료 분석 연구로 청소년의 자살 위험성을 높이는 요인을 탐색하고 우선적으로 고려해야 하는 변수를 확인하기 위해 시도되었다. 연구 대상 자는 연구에 참여한 중·고등학생으로 54,597명의 자료가 분석에 사용되었다. 연구 결과 청소년의 자살 위험성에 영향을 미치는 요인은 ‘불안(β=0.227)’, ‘슬픔과 절망감(β=0.186)’, ‘폭력으로 인한 치료 겅험(β=0.125)’, ‘외로움(β=0.087)’, ‘인식 된 스트레스((β=0.048)’, ‘성경험((β=0.037)’, ‘흡연경험(β=0.026)’, ‘음주경험(β=0..023)’, ‘거주형태(β=0.020)’, ‘경제적 수 준(β=0.014)’순으로 확인되었다. 해당 변수의 청소년 자살 위험성 설명력은 23.3%이다. 변수 간의 영향력을 비교했을 때 가장 강력한 영향 요인은 청소년의 불안이었으며 그 외 영향력이 높은 요인은 슬픔과 절망감, 폭력에 노출된 치료 경험 순으로 확인되었다. 따라서 추후 청소년의 자살 위험성을 낮추기 위한 전략 수립에 있어 청소년의 불안, 슬픔과 절망감, 폭력 노출 경험을 우선적으로 고려할 필요가 있음을 제언한다.
