This study aimed to explore trends in dental hygiene infection control research by comparatively analyzing articles published in domestic academic journals from 2016 to 2023, focusing on the period before and after the outbreak of COVID-19. The study sample consisted of a total of 20 articles, including 10 published prior to the COVID-19 outbreak (2016–2019) and 10 published after the outbreak (2020–2023). The articles were retrieved from the Research Information Sharing Service (RISS), the Korean Studies Information Service System (KISS), and the Korea Citation Index (KCI) using the keywords “COVID-19,” “dental hygiene,” “dentistry,” and “infection control.” Microsoft Excel was used to organize the general characteristics of the studies and analyze the distribution patterns of key research topics. The results showed that, prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, studies focusing on “awareness” were the most prevalent, accounting for seven articles (33.3%), followed by studies addressing “level of practice,” with six articles (28.6%). In contrast, after the COVID-19 outbreak, studies on “level of practice” accounted for five articles (21.7%), those on “knowledge” for six articles (17.4%), and those on “awareness” for three articles (13.0%). This study provides a systematic comparison and analysis of the thematic changes and research trends in dental hygiene infection control before and after COVID-19. The findings are expected to serve as a fundamental reference for future research directions, infection control education, and policy development in the field of dental hygiene.

본 연구는 2016년부터 2023년까지 국내 학술지에 게재된 논문을 비교·분석하여, 코로나19 발생 전후 치위생 감염관 리 연구의 동향을 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 코로나19 발생 이전(2016∼2019년) 10편과 발생 이후(2020∼2023년) 10편을 포함한 총 20편의 논문이었다. 논문 검색은 ‘COVID-19’, ‘치위생’, ‘치과’, ‘감염관리’를 주요 검색어로 하여 RISS(학 술연구정보서비스), KISS(한국학술정보), KCI(한국학술지인용색인) 데이터베이스를 활용하였다. 수집된 논문은 Microsoft Excel을 이용하여 연구의 일반적 특성과 주요 키워드의 분포 양상을 정리·분석하였다. 연구 결과, 코로나19 발생 이전에는 ‘인식’을 주제로 한 연구가 7편(33.3%)으로 가장 많았으며, ‘실천 정도’를 다룬 연구가 6편(28.6%)으로 뒤를 이었다. 반면, 코로나19 발생 이후에는 ‘실천 정도’가 5편(21.7%), ‘지식’이 6편(17.4%), ‘인식’이 3편(13.0%)으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 코로 나19 발생 전후 치위생 감염관리 연구의 주제 변화와 연구 경향을 비교·분석함으로써, 향후 치위생 분야의 감염관리 교육, 정책 개발 및 연구 방향 설정을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
