This study investigates the effects of perceived socioeconomic status and socioeconomic deprivation on life satisfaction among young adults with disabilities, focusing on the mediating effect of social participation. The analysis utilized data from the 8th wave of the second panel of the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled, conducted by the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities. The results indicate that perceived socioeconomic status has a positive effect on life satisfaction, while socioeconomic deprivation has a negative effect. Furthermore, Social participation was found to mediate the effects of both socioeconomic status and socioeconomic deprivation on life satisfaction. These results suggest that improving life satisfaction among young adults with disabilities requires not only material support but also institutional efforts to establish environmental conditions that promote social participation.

본 연구는 장애 청년을 대상으로 이들이 지각하는 사회경제적 지위와 사회경제적 박탈이 생활만족도에 미치는 영향과 사회참여의 매개효과를 검증하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 이에 한국장애인고용공단 고용개발원에서 조사한 장 애인고용패널 2차 웨이브 8차 조사 자료를 활용하여 분석하였다. 주요 분석결과는 사회경제적 지위는 생활만족도와 정(+)의 영향 관계, 사회경제적 박탈은 생활만족도와 부(-)의 영향 관계, 사회참여는 사회경제적 지위와 사회경제적 박탈이 생활만족도와의 영향 관계에서 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 장애 청년의 생활만족도를 향상시 키기 위해 단순한 물질적 지원을 넘어서, 사회참여를 촉진할 수 있는 환경적 조건을 제도적으로 마련하는 노력이 필 요함을 시사한다.
