The Song Dynasty(宋) Liu kezhuang(劉克莊) has written a series of works with the theme of old age(連作老吟詩). Joseon writers also wrote numerous series of works with the theme of old age under such influence. Mog Manjung(睦萬中) was 84 years old and Yun ki(尹愭) was 69 years old, respectively. Both poets accepted the traditional form of poetry and wrote 14 entries each. The two poets referred to the existing 12 entries, and Mog Manjung added cow and horse, and Yun kiadded farmer and soldier. The series of works with the theme of old age basically begins with a sigh of aging. The two poets also did not deviate from this. However, the positive gaze on farmers and slaves arising from the background of the agricultural society or social society stems from the perspective of poets or slaves. Looking at the works on cow or horse, various contents such as regret about the situation of being abandoned by old age, becoming stronger by old age, or being relaxed can be seen. It is possible to confirm the affection for them, which stems from the peculiarity of an agricultural society. These works contain perceptions of old age, such as the reality that is equipped with wisdom and experience but not recognized, the difficulty of living in the background of such reality, and the appearance of acknowledging old age and trying to live a leisurely life.

조선 문인은 다양한 시체의 활용과 소재의 확대 등을 통해 수많은 연작 노음시를 지었다. 목만중은 1810년 84세에, 윤기는 1809년 69세에, 칠언율시 로 각각 14수의 작품을 지었는데 시체나 대상 및 시수(詩數)가 동일하다. 기존 12수의 연작 노음시에서 목만중은 소와 말을, 윤기는 농부와 병졸을 추가했다. 연작 노음시는 기본적으로 늙음에 대한 탄식에서 시작된다. 목만중과 윤 기 역시 여기에서 벗어나지 않았다. 다만 농경사회나 신분사회의 배경에서 비롯된 농부나 노비에 대한 긍정적인 시선은 철저하게 시인 혹은 유자의 입 장에서 비롯된 것이다. 그러한 시선은 사회에 해악을 끼치는 아전이나 점쟁 이 혹은 무당에 대한 부정적인 시선으로도 연결되었다. 소나 말을 대상으로 한 작품을 살펴보면, 늙어 버림받은 상황에 대한 아 쉬움과 노익장, 혹은 노년의 여유로움 등 다채로운 내용이 보인다. 여기에 머물지 않고 자신의 삶을 적극적으로 투사했다. 지혜와 경륜을 갖추었지만 인정받지 못한 현실, 그러한 현실을 배경으로 살아가야 하는 고단함, 차라리 늙음을 인정하고 여유롭게 살아가려는 모습 등 노년에 대한 인식의 파편들 이 고스란히 작품에 담겨 있어, 시인의 모습과도 일정 부분 겹친다.
