The purpose of this study is to analyze the four key factors (intrapersonal, psychological and emotional, environmental, and facilitating factors) that influence the expression of musical talent, focusing on the life history of world-renowned violinist Kyung-Hwa Chung. A single-case qualitative study was conducted using a four-factor framework based on the theoretical frameworks of Haroutounian, Gagné, and McPherson. As a result, first, as an intrapersonal factor, Chung’s musical abilities such as her innate listening ability, excellent performance skills, and musical sensitivity were confirmed. Second, as a psychological and emotional factor, high self-efficacy, immersion in music, and early formation of self-identity were identified as important factors. Third, as for environmental factors, a music-friendly family style, various performance opportunities from childhood, and artistic support from the family played a decisive role. Fourth, as a facilitating factor, the external opportunity structure that Chung encountered, such as world-renowned mentors, educational institutions, participation in international competitions, and early study abroad, contributed to accelerating the expression of her talent. This study has academic contributions in that it theoretically structured the factors that manifest musical talent and applied them to actual cases to comprehensively interpret them, and it provides practical implications for setting the direction of future music gifted education.

본 연구의 목적은 세계적 바이올리니스트 정경화의 생애사를 중심으로, 음악 영재성의 발현에 영향을 미치는 네 가지 핵심요인(개인 내적요인, 심리·정서 요인, 환경요인, 촉진요인)을 분석하고자 하는 데 있다. Haroutounian, Gagné, McPherson 등의 이론적 틀을 바탕으로 구성한 4요인 프레임워크를 통해 단일사례 질적연구를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 개인 내적요인으로는 정경화의 타고난 청음 능력, 뛰어난 연주 기술, 음악적 감수성과 같은 선천적 음악역량이 확인되었다. 둘째, 심리·정서 요인으로는 높은 자기효능감, 음악에 대한 몰입, 자아정체성의 조기 형성 등 이 중요한 요소로 나타났다. 셋째, 환경요인에서는 음악 중심의 가정 분위기, 유년기부터의 다양한 연주 기회, 가족의 예술적 지원 등이 결정적 역할을 하였다. 넷째, 촉진요인으로는 세계적인 멘토와 교육기관, 국제 콩쿠르 참여, 조기 유학 등 정경화가 접한 외부적 기회 구조가 영재성 발현을 가속화하는데 기여하였다. 본 연구는 음악 영재성 발현요 인을 이론적으로 구조화하고, 실제 사례에 적용하여 통합적으로 해석했다는 점에서 학문적 기여를 가지며, 향후 음악 영재 교육의 방향설정에 실질적인 시사점을 제공한다.
