Objective: This study aims to analyze the major issues concerning children with disabilities as represented in South Korean news media and to explore their potential linkage to health education. Methods: The news articles related to children with disabilities published between 2020 and 2023 were collected and analyzed using Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic modeling. Results: Analysis of news articles related to children with disabilities ten key topics. Among these, topics such as ‘improving the educational environment for children with disabilities’ and ‘child abuse prevention campaigns’ emerged as closely related to school- and community-based health education. In particular, preventive campaigns that holistically address both educational access and the right to health offer meaningful insights for the development of future health education programs and policies targeting children with disabilities. Conclusions: This study demonstrates how big data analysis of media content can shed light on public discourse surrounding children with disabilities and emphasizes the need for effective, evidence-based directions in health education.

목적: 본 연구는 국내 언론보도를 통해 나타난 장애 아동 관련 주요 이슈를 분석하고, 이 중 보건교육과의 연계 가능성을 탐색하고자 하였다. 방법: 2020년부터 2023년까지 보도된 장애 아동 관련 뉴스 기사 데이터를 수집하고, 잠재 디리클레 할당(Latent Dirichlet allocation, LDA) 토픽 모델링 기법을 적용하여 주요 토픽을 도출하였다. 결과: 장애 아동 관련 뉴스 기사 분석 결과, 총 10개의 주요 토픽이 도출되었다. 이 중 ‘장 애 아동의 교육 환경 개선’, ‘장애 아동 학대 예방 캠페인’ 등은 학교 및 지역사회 기반의 보건 교육과 밀접하게 관련된 주제로 나타났다. 특히 교육 접근성과 건강권 보장을 통합적으로 고 려하는 예방 중심의 캠페인 활동은 향후 장애 아동 대상 보건교육 프로그램 기획 및 정책 수 립에 있어 중요한 시사점을 제공한다. 결론: 본 연구는 언론자료를 활용한 빅데이터 분석을 통해 장애 아동 관련 사회적 담론의 흐름을 조망하고, 이를 바탕으로 실효성 있는 보건교육의 방향성과 필요성이 요구된다.
