This study aimed to evaluate the effects of attitudes toward suicide and thoughts on the intention to use mental health facility. The research design for this study was a secondary analytic survey, it was conducted after receiving approval from the Dong-gu Mental Health Center in Daegu for the use of survey data, and the final analysis target was 675 people. Data were analyzed using SPSS program to conduct t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows: 1) In the case of having prior information about the mental health facility, the intention to use the facility (t=3.98, p<.001) and the preventable awareness of suicide (t=3.34, p<.001) were high, and the lack of awareness of suicide (t=-2.07, p=.039) and the receptive attitude (t=-2.78, p=.006) were low. 2) Factors influencing the intention to use the mental health facility were preventable awareness of suicide (β=.19, p<.001) and prior information about the facility (β=.13, p<.001), and the overall influence was 5.4%, indicating that suicidal ideation did not have an effect. Based on the above results, it is suggested that measures should be prepared to enhance the preventable awareness of suicide and to improve the awareness of the mental health facility in local residents in order to increase the intention to use the mental health facility.

본 연구는 자살에 대한 태도와 사고가 정신건강복지센터 이용 의향에 미치는 영향을 파악하는 것을 목적으로 2022년 대구시 동구 정신건강 인식도 조사 사업 결과 자료의 일부를 분석한 2차 분석연구로서, 조사 자료 사용에 대하여 대구시 동구정신건강복지센터로부터 사용 승인을 받은 후 연구를 진행하였으며, 최종 분석 대상은 675명이었 다. 자료분석은 SPSS를 활용하여 t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 1) 정신건강복지센터에 대한 사전정보가 있을 경우 센터 이용 의향(t=3.98, p<.001)과 자살에 대한 예방가능 인식(t=3.34, p<.001)은 높았으며, 자살에 대한 인식부족(t=-2.07, p=.039)과 수용적 태도(t=-2.78, p=.006)는 낮았다. 2) 정신건강복지센터 이용 의향에 영향을 미치는 요인은 자살에 대한 예방가능인식(β=.19, p<.001)과 센터에 대한 사 전정보(β=.13, p<.001)였으며, 전체 영향력은 5.4%로 자살 사고는 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과 를 통하여 정신건강복지센터 이용 의향을 높이기 위해 지역주민 대상의 자살에 대한 예방가능인식 강화 및 센터의 인지도 향상을 위한 방안을 마련할 필요가 있음을 제언한다.
