This study aimed to examine the mediating effect of mentalization in the relationship between adult attachment and emotional and personality-related career decision difficulties among college students. Data from 468 participants were collected through an online survey conducted by a research company. Descriptive statistics and correlation analysis were performed using spss 29.0, and a bootstrap procedure was conducted using the spss process macro to verify the mediation effect. The findings are summarized as follows. First, Significant correlations were found among adult attachment, mentalization, and emotional and personality-related career decision difficulties. Second, Mentalization was found to partially mediate the relationship between adult attachment and emotional and personality-related career decision difficulties. These findings confirm the relationship between emotional and personality-related career decision difficulties and adult attachment among college students and verify the role of mentalization in this relationship.

본 연구는 대학생의 성인애착과 정서 및 성격관련 진로결정어려움과의 관계에서 정신화의 매개효과를 검증하 고자 하였다. 총 468명의 데이터는 온라인 리서치 회사에서 실시한 설문을 통해 수집되었다. 수집된 데이터는 spss 29.0을 활용하여 기술통계와 상관분석을 실시하였고, 매개효과 검증을 위해 spss process macro를 활용하여 부트스 트랩 절차를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성인애착, 정신화, 정서 및 성격관련 진로결정어려움 간에 모두 유의한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 성인애착과 정서 및 성격관련 진로결정어려움 간의 관계에서 정신화는 부분매개 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 통해 대학생의 성인애착과 정서 및 성격관련 진로결 정어려움 간의 관계와 이 두 변인 간의 관계에서 나타나는 정신화의 매개역할을 확인하였다.
