This study empirically analyzes the impact of citizens' awareness of community issues in the fields of social (a), economic (b), welfare (c), and cultural (d) aspects on political participation awareness in Changwon City. The results indicate that citizens' political participation awareness has a significant positive relationship with economic trust, social fairness, the necessity of welfare expansion, and cultural activity participation. Conversely, factors such as economic inequality, declining social trust, low confidence in welfare policies, and negative perceptions of elderly welfare were found to negatively influence political participation awareness. Notably, economic trust emerged as the most crucial factor in shaping citizens' political participation awareness, and an increase in economic inequality correlated with higher political cynicism. Based on these findings, the study suggests that restoring economic trust, strengthening social fairness, enhancing confidence in welfare policies, and promoting cultural participation are key strategies for fostering citizens' political engagement, which we are achieved through comprehensive policy implementation and active civic participation.

본 연구는 C시 시민을 대상으로 사회(a), 경제(b), 복지(c), 문화(d 분야의 지역사회 현안 인식이 시민의 정치 참여 의식에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 시민의 정치참여 의식은 경제적 신뢰, 사회적 공정성, 복지 확대 필요성, 문화 활동 참여와 유의미한 정(+)의 관계를 보였다. 반면, 경제적 불평등, 사회적 신뢰 저하, 사회 복지 신뢰도, 노인복지 인식 부족은 정치참여 의식에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 경제적 신뢰가 시민의 정치참여 의식 결정에 가장 중요한 요인으로 분석되었으며, 경제적 불평등이 심화될수록 정치적 냉소주의가 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로, 경제적 신뢰를 회복하고 사회적 공정성을 강화하며, 복지정책에 대 한 신뢰도를 제고하고 문화활동 참여를 활성화하는 것이 시민의 정치참여를 촉진하는 주요 전략임을 시사한다.
