As artificial intelligence education is introduced in the 2022 revised curriculum, interest in artificial intelligence education is increasing in the educational field, and various educational institutions such as the Ministry of Education are presenting artificial intelligence content standards and achievement standards. However, if we analyze the currently presented artificial intelligence content standards, they are often limited to the upper grades, and even if the lower grade contents are presented, some difficult contents that do not consider the characteristics of the grade are included or the hierarchical level of the contents of education between grades is insufficient. However, in education for elementary school students, it is necessary to design educational contents considering the cognitive ability of each grade. To this end, this study suggested a 'step-by-step artificial intelligence education program considering the cognitive abilities of each grade group' and suggested the direction of artificial intelligence education for all grades. In order for artificial intelligence education to be applied to all grades of elementary school in the future, it is necessary to develop teaching materials and teaching aids based on the educational program proposed in this study, apply them to the school site, and continue research to confirm their effectiveness.

2022 개정 교육과정에 인공지능 교육이 도입됨에 따라 교육 현장에서 인공지능 교육에 관한 관심이 높아지고 있고, 이에 맞춰 교육부 등 다양한 교육기관에서 인공지능 내용 기준 및 성취기준을 제시하고 있다. 하지만 현재 제시되고 있는 인공지능 내용 기준을 분석해보면 고학년에 국한되어 있는 경우가 많고 저학년 교육 내용을 제시 한 경우에도 학년 특성을 고려하지 않은 다소 어려운 내용이 포함되거나 학년간 교육 내용의 위계성이 부족한 경우가 많았다. 하지만 초등학생들을 위한 교육에서는 각 학년의 인지 능력을 고려한 교육 내용 설계가 필요하 다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 ‘학년 군별 인지 능력을 고려한 단계별 인공지능 교육프로그램’을 제안하여 전 학 년을 대상으로 인공지능 교육을 실시하는데 그 방향성을 제시하였다. 향후 학교 초등학교 전 학년을 대상으로 인공지능 교육이 확대 적용되려면 본 연구에서 제안한 교육프로그램을 바탕으로 교재와 교구를 개발하고 학교 현장에 적용해본 후 그 효과성을 확인하는 연구가 지속적으로 필요하다.
