The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the vulnerability of global supply chains and the importance of supply chain risk management. This study presents a conceptual framework that applies epidemic models to supply chain risk analysis, mapping the states of Susceptible, Infected, and Recovered/Removed to supply chain nodes. This approach enables a dynamic understanding of risk transmission and recovery over time. By incorporating the basic reproduction number, the framework quantitatively evaluates systemic vulnerability and classifies risk management strategies into prevention, containment, and recovery. The proposed model is applied to the analysis of supply chain disruptions and responses observed during the COVID-19 pandemic, offering theoretical insights and practical implications for developing strategies to address future global supply chain risk.

COVID-19 팬데믹을 계기로 글로벌 공급망의 취약성과 위험관리의 중요성이 부각되었다. 본 연구는 전염 병 확산 모형을 공급망 위험관리에 접목하여, 복잡한 공급망에서 위험 전파와 복원력의 상호작용을 설명하는 개념 적 프레임워크를 제시한다. 전염병 확산 모형의 미감염, 감염, 회복/제거 상태를 공급망 노드에 대응시켜, 위험이 어떻게 확산되고 회복되는지를 시간의 흐름에 따라 이해할 수 있도록 하였다. 이와 더불어, 기초감염재생산수를 활용하여 시스템의 취약성을 정량적으로 평가하고, 예방, 확산차단, 복구로 구성된 위험관리 전략 분류체계를 도출 하였다. 이 프레임워크는 COVID-19 상황에서 나타난 공급망 붕괴 및 대응 사례를 이론적으로 재해석하는 데 활용되었으며, 향후 유사한 글로벌 공급망 위험에 대응하기 위한 전략 수립에 시사점을 제공한다.
