This study examined the effect of emotional distress on suicidal behavior among young adults and explored the moderating role of alcohol dependence symptoms in this relationship. A self-report survey was conducted with 107 individuals aged 20 to 39, and the moderation effect was analyzed using the PROCESS Macro. The results revealed that emotional distress had a significant positive effect on suicidal behavior. Alcohol dependence symptoms not only directly influenced suicidal behavior but also had a significant moderating effect that intensified the relationship between emotional distress and suicidal behavior. These findings empirically confirmed the cumulative impact of emotional distress and alcohol dependence on suicidal behavior in young adults and suggested practical intervention strategies that included enhanced emotional awareness, alcohol use prevention education, and the development of multi-tiered counseling support systems. The significance of this study was further reinforced by its use of data collected from actual users of online mental health counseling services, which ensured field applicability. Moreover, this study suggested the necessity of future research to develop and evaluate online counseling intervention models that reflected various mental health risk factors.

　본 연구는 청년의 정서 문제가 자살 행동에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 알코올 의존 증상이 이 관계를 조절하는지를 검 토하였다. 이를 위해 20~30대 청년 107명을 대상으로 자기보고 형 설문조사를 실시하고, PROCESS Macro를 활용하여 조 절 효과를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 정서 문제는 자살 행동에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤으며, 알코올 의존 증상은 자살 행동 에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 동시에 정서 문제와 자살 행동 간의 관계를 강화하는 조절 효과를 나타냈다. 이는 청년의 자살 행 동에 정서 문제와 알코올 의존이 중첩적으로 작용함을 실증적으로 확인한 것으로, 정서 인식 향상, 음주 문제 예방 교육, 다층 적 상담 연계 체계 구축 등 실천적 개입 방향을 제시했다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 또한 실제 비대면 정신건강 상담을 신청한 청 년을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였다는 점에서 현장 기반의 적용 가능성을 확보하였으며, 향후 다양한 정신건강 위험 요인을 반 영한 비대면 상담 개입 모형 개발 및 효과성 검증 연구의 필요성을 제시했다.
