SW education is an important means of cultivating essential capabilities that members of modern society must have, and this also applies to people with developmental disabilities. In this study, we developed and applied an unplugged coding education program tailored to the characteristics of people with developmental disabilities and verified any changes in the development of computational thinking skills of people with developmental disabilities. We conducted an experiment targeting three people with developmental disabilities at A Welfare Center in Gyeonggi Province using the intermittent baseline design method among participants. As a result, it was confirmed that the computational thinking skills of all participants improved compared to the baseline stage after the application of the education program and were maintained for a certain period of time. This suggests that coding education that applies teaching methods that consider the cognitive and sensory characteristics of people with developmental disabilities can improve the computational thinking skills of people with developmental disabilities. In the future, we suggest expanded research that considers a wider range of age groups and disability characteristics, and follow-up research that verifies the long-term educational effects of coding education for people with developmental disabilities.

SW교육은 현대 사회 구성원이 갖추어야 할 필수 역량을 기르는 중요한 수단이며, 이는 발달장애인에게도 동일하 게 적용된다. 본 연구에서는 발달장애인의 특성에 맞춰 언플러그드 코딩교육 프로그램을 개발 및 적용하고 발달장애 인의 컴퓨팅사고력 발달에 어떠한 변화가 있는지 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 참여자 간 중다간헐 기초선 설계법을 활용하여 경기도의 A 복지관 발달장애인 3명을 대상으로 실험을 진행하였다. 그 결과, 교육 프로그램 적용 후 모든 참여자의 컴퓨팅사고력이 기초선 단계에 비해 향상되었으며 일정 기간 유지됨을 확인하였다. 이는 발달장애인의 인지 적, 감각적 특성을 고려한 교수 방법을 적용한 코딩교육이 발달장애인의 컴퓨팅사고력을 향상시킬 수 있음을 시사한 다. 향후 폭넓은 연령대와 장애 특성을 고려한 확장 연구와 발달장애인 대상 코딩교육의 장기적인 교육 효과를 검증 하는 후속 연구 등을 제언한다.
