Evaluation of the Efficacy of Medifood in Alleviatingfunctional Dyspepsia Symptoms

Gastrointestinal disorders cause considerable discomfort in daily life and can progress into more severe conditions, such as peptic ulcers, Barrett’s esophagus, and esophageal cancer. Conventional pharmacological treatments have limited long-term efficacy and side effects; natural approaches may be alternative solutions. However, comprehensive studies on the combined effects of multiple natural ingredients are limited. Therefore, in this study, the effects of natural test food (Medifood) on alleviating gastrointestinal symptoms were investigated. In 47 participants, vital sign assessments indicated normal weight increases and reductions in blood pressure in both groups. Questionnaire evaluations showed notable alleviation of gastrointestinal symptoms and improvement in quality of life, with greater improvements observed in the experimental group. These results suggest the potential of Medifood as a natural intervention for functional dyspepsia. Therefore, it may be recommended as a complementary dietary intervention, although further long-term studies to confirm its efficacy and safety are required. The experimental group showed significant reductions in functional dyspepsia-related quality of life (from 24.21 to 4.91), gastrointestinal symptom rating scale (25.47 to 8.3), and visual analog scale (VAS) scores (VAS1: 24.52 to 7.04; VAS2: 17.47 to 3.65), indicating improved gastrointestinal health.

위장 장애는 일상생활에 상당한 불편함을 초래하며 소화성 궤양, 바렛 식도, 식도암과 같은 더 심각한 상 태로 진행될 수 있다. 기존의 약리적 치료는 장기적인 효능과 부작용이 제한적이다. 자연적 접근 방식이 대안적인 해결책이 될 수 있다. 그러나 여러 천연 성분의 결합 효과에 대한 포괄적인 연구는 제한적이다. 따라서 이 연구에 서는 천연 시험 식품(메디푸드)이 위장 증상 완화에 미치는 효과를 조사했다. 47명의 참가자에서 생체 신호 평가 는 두 그룹 모두에서 정상적인 체중 증가와 혈압 감소를 나타냈다. 설문지 평가는 위장 증상의 현저한 완화와 삶 의 질의 개선을 보였으며 실험 그룹에서 더 큰 개선이 관찰되었다. 이러한 결과는 기능성 소화불량에 대한 자연적 개입으로서 메디푸드의 잠재력을 시사한다. 따라서 보완적인 식이 개입으로 권장될 수 있지만 효능과 안전성을 확 인하기 위한 추가 연구가 필요하다.
