This study aims to understand the current state of field practice of arts and cultural education practitioners and to find out ways to improve field practice, focusing on college students majoring in visual arts in the metropolitan area. This study recruited 16 students majoring in visual arts at a college in Seoul who voluntarily agreed to participate in the study and participated in a field training program in cultural arts education from December 2, 2024 to December 20, 2024. The research methods of this study were questionnaires and interviews, and the collected data were analyzed through frequency analysis and interview content. As a result, the difficulties experienced by prospective cultural arts educators confirmed in this study are as follows. First, in pre-practice preparation, ‘individual competency of practitioners’ and ‘communication with institutions and managers’. Second, in terms of qualitative difficulties in the practicum institutions and practicum contents, ‘few practicum institutions’ and ‘regrettable practicum contents’ were identified. Third, the other difficulties are ‘the institution is not well aware of cultural arts education practice’ and ‘the practice period and time are short.’ In conclusion, this study suggested several supplementary points for the difficulties identified in the cultural arts education practice field.

본 연구는 수도권 내 시각예술 전공학과 대학생을 중심으로 예비 문화예술교육사의 현장실습 실태 파악과 향후 보완 방향에 대해 알아보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구는 2024년 12월 2월부터 2024년 12월 20일까지 문화예술교육 현장의 이해와 실습 교과를 이수하고, 현장실습에 참여하였으며, 자발적으로 연구 참여에 동의한 서울시 내 대학 에 재학 중인 시각예술 전공학과 학생 16명을 연구 참여자로 모집하였다. 본 연구의 연 구 방법은 설문지와 인터뷰 방법이 사용되었으며, 수집된 설문지는 빈도분석을 하였고, 인터뷰는 주제와 내용을 분류하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 본 연구에서 확인한 예비문화 예술교육사들이 경험한 어려움은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 실습 사전 준비에서 ‘실습자 개인 역량’, ‘기관 및 담당자와의 소통’이다. 둘째, 실습 기관과 실습내용에서 양질적 어려움 으로 ‘실습기관이 적음’, ‘실습 내용의 아쉬움’이다. 셋째, 기타 내용으로 ‘문화예술교육 실습을 기관에서 잘 알지 못함’, ‘실습기간 및 시간이 적음’이다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 문화예술교육 실습 현장에서 실습자가 경험한 어려움을 파악하고 이에 대해 몇 가지 보완점을 제시하였다.
