This study explores the potential of the AI-based chatbot ToDocE for the early detection of school bullying and emotional support for elementary and middle school students. The chatbot was developed as an application, and its cognitive and emotional effectiveness was analyzed with 147 elementary and middle school students. The self-efficacy analysis revealed a significant improvement in confidence among elementary school students, while middle school students showed enhanced self-regulation. Regarding self-esteem, self-derogation decreased among elementary school students, indicating positive changes, though assertiveness and anxiety showed some negative effects. Middle school students demonstrated significant positive changes in leadership and popularity. This study empirically confirms that chatbots can support emotional stability and development, contributing to the resolution of social issues such as school bullying prevention. However, it highlights the need to address excessive dependency among elementary students and to examine the long-term effects on middle school students. The findings suggest the importance of customized chatbot design based on developmental stages and enhancing the supportive roles of teachers and parents.

본 연구는 인공지능 기반 챗봇 토닥이(ToDocE)를 활용하여 초·중등학생의 학교폭력 조기 진단 및 정서적 지원 가능성을 탐구하였다. 이를 위해 챗봇을 어플리케이션 형태로 개발하여 초·중등학생 147명을 대상으로 실제 인지 및 정서적 효과를 분석하였다. 자기효능감 분석 결과, 초등학생의 자신감 영역에서 유의미한 향상이 있었으며, 중 학생은 자기조절 능력이 개선되었다. 자아존중감 분석에서는 초등학생의 자기비하가 감소하고 긍정적 변화가 나타 났으나, 자기주장과 불안 영역에서 부정적 영향을 확인하였다. 중학생은 지도력과 인기영역에서 유의미한 긍정적 변화를 보였다. 이 연구는 챗봇이 정서적 안정과 발달을 지원하며, 학교폭력 예방과 같은 사회적 문제 해결에 기 여할 가능성을 실증적으로 확인하였다. 그러나 초등학생의 지나친 의존성 및 중학생 대상의 장기적 효과 검토 필 요성을 시사하며, 발달단계별 맞춤형 설계 및 교사와 학부모의 조력자 역할 강화의 중요성을 제언한다.
