This study examined whether depressive mood and empathy sequentially mediate the relationship between violence experienced by parents and peers and the sensitivity to cyber delinquent behaviors. Using data from the 14th wave of the Panel Study on Korean Children in 2021, which included responses from 1,328 first-year middle school students, the research hypotheses were tested. The results revealed the following: First, while violent parenting did not directly reduce sensitivity to cyber delinquent behaviors, it contributed to lower sensitivity through increased depressive mood and reduced empathy. Second, a similar mechanism was observed in cases of peer violence. Children who experienced peer violence tended to report higher levels of depressive mood, which subsequently diminished their empathy levels, leading to decreased sensitivity to cyber delinquent behaviors. Based on these finding, the study discusses conclusions and practical implications.

본 연구는 부모나 또래로부터의 폭력 피해 경험 각각이 사이버 비행 민감성에 영향을 미치는 경로에서 우 울감과 공감 능력이 순차적인 매개효과를 갖는지를 검증하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 2021 한국아동패널조 사 14차년도 데이터 중 중학교 1학년 1,328의 응답을 활용하여 연구 가설을 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 폭력적 양육 방식은 직접적으로 사이버 비행 민감도를 직접적으로 낮추지는 않았지만, 우울감과 공감 능력을 통해 사이버 비행 민감도를 낮췄다. 즉, 부모로부터 폭력적으로 양육된 아동은 우울감을 더 많이 경험하고, 공감 수준이 낮아져 결과적으로 사이버 비행에 문제라고 생각하는 정도를 감소시킨 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 또래 폭력 피해 경험도 유사한 메커니즘으로 작동하였다. 또래 폭력을 경험한 아동은 우울감을 더 높게 보고하는 경향이 있었으며, 이는 공감 수준을 낮추는 역할을 하였다. 결과적으로 공감 수준이 낮아지면서 사이버 비행에 대한 민감 도가 감소하는 것이 확인되었다. 이상의 결과를 중심으로 결론을 도출하고 실천적 시사점을 논의하였다.
