This study sought to determine whether the smartphone overdependence behavior characteristics of college students affect academic procrastination. In particular, we wanted to confirm whether there was a moderating effect of self-control. The research results are as follows. First, smartphone users' overdependence behavior characteristics, such as regulation failure, salience, and problematic outcome characteristics were all found to have a significant impact on academic procrastination behavior. Second, it was found that there was a moderating effect of self-control in the influence of the salience characteristics of smartphone overdependence on academic procrastination behavior. Based on these results, it is possible to improve academic procrastination by reducing smartphone dependency through self-control training in college students who exhibit academic procrastination.

본 연구는 대학생의 스마트폰 과의존이 학업지연행동에 영향을 미치는가를 확인하고자 하였다. 특히, 자기 통제력의 조절효과가 있는가를 확인하고자 하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 스마트폰 사용자의 과의존 행동특성인 조절실패 와 현저성 및 문제적 결과 특성은 모두 학업지연행동에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 스마트폰 과의존의 현저성 특성이 학업지연행동에 미치는 영향에서 자기통제력의 조절효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 학업지연행동이 나타나는 대학생에게 자기통제력 훈련을 통해 스마트폰 의존도를 줄임으로 써 학업지연행동을 개선할 수 있을 것이다.
