This article reexamines W.B. Yeats’s poetry through Markus Gabriel’s New Realism, providing a fresh perspective on the autonomy and intrinsic significance of Yeats’s symbols. Gabriel’s concept of “fields of sense” challenges the anthropocentric interpretations that reduce symbols to reflections of personal or cultural concerns, instead revealing them as autonomous entities resonating with meaning independent of human perception. By situating Yeats’s imagery within a multidimensional reality, this framework bridges the poet’s historical engagement and mythic imagination, unveiling new insights into the layered complexity of his poetic vision. Gabriel’s philosophy highlights a self-sustaining and sublime reality within Yeats’s work, redefining poetic meaning as an encounter with independent and autonomous forces that transcend traditional interpretive boundaries.
