This study aimed to explore the changes in childbirth experiences and values o f 10 mothers who gave birth to and raised three or more children, and analyzed them through qualitative case studies. The results of the analysis were integrated into 32 meaning units, 14 subcategories, and 4 supercategories, and the main research results are as follows. First, the subcategories of the conception of various seeds of life through the experience of the original family were as follows: existence like a screen, a beloved protagonist, separation from poverty, and strong brotherhood. Second, the subcategories of the experience of the original family as the nutrient for views on marriage and children were as follows: conditions for marriage, emotional empathy, and siblings as strong supporters. Third, the subcategories of the experience of giving birth and raising children made them mature parents were as follows: mother hen holding chicks, establishing the family name through the birth of children, and parents are mirrors for their children. Fourth, the subcategories of the formation of values o f the multiple children through the sweet happiness given by children were as follows: happiness doubles the more children there are, high marital intimacy and satisfaction, learning the ways of the world through play, and the meaning of children.

본 연구는 셋 이상의 자녀를 출산.양육하는 다자녀 어머니 10명을 대상으로 출산경험과 가치관 변화에 대한 탐 색이 목적이며, 질적 사례연구로 분석하였다. 분석 결과 32개의 의미 단위와 14개의 하위범주, 4개의 상위범주로 통합 되었고 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 원가족경험으로 다양한 삶의 씨앗 잉태의 하위범주는 병풍같은 존재, 예쁨 받는 주인공, 빈곤으로 생이별, 든든한 형제애. 둘째, 원가족 경험은 결혼관.자녀관의 자양분이 됨의 하위범주는 결혼의 조 건, 정서적 공감, 형제자매는 든든한 후원자. 셋째, 출산양육경험이 성숙한 부모로 거듭나게 함의 하위범주는 병아리를 품 는 어미닭, 자녀출생으로 가족의 성을 세움, 부모는 자식의 거울. 넷째, 자녀가 주는 꿀행복으로 다자녀가치관 형성의 하위 범주는 내리자식일수록 행복이 두배, 높은 부부친밀과 만족, 놀이 속에서 세상 이치 터득, 자녀의 의미로 나타났다.
