This study analyzes the feasibility and necessity of establishing a unified military academy in light of the challenges posed by population decline and the need for enhanced military interoperability. The decline in birth rates and aging population in South Korea have significantly reduced the pool of military resources, posing a severe threat to maintaining national defense capabilities. Furthermore, the independent operation of existing service academies has led to a lack of interoperability among the branches of the armed forces. The proposed unified military academy aims to address these issues by ensuring efficient resource management, reducing financial costs, strengthening joint operations, and enhancing readiness for future battlefields. This study argues that establishing a unified military academy can improve the quality of South Korea's military capabilities and contribute to strengthening international cooperation.

본 논문은 인구 감소와 군사적 합동성 강화의 필요성에 따라 통합사관학교 설립의 타당성과 실현 가능성을 분 석한다. 한국의 출생률 저하와 인구 고령화로 인한 병역 자원 감소는 군사력 유지에 심각한 위협을 가하고 있으며, 기존 각군 사관학교의 독립 운영은 군 간 합동성 부족을 초래하고 있다. 통합사관학교는 자원의 효율적 관리, 재정 절감, 합동성 강화, 그리고 미래 전장 대응력 제고에 기여할 수 있는 방안으로 제안된다. 통합사관학교 설립이 한국 군사력의 질적 향상과 국제적 협력 강화에 도움이 될 수 있다는 것을 논증한다.
