In this paper, it is a discussion of the problem, "the true meaning of what is Innocence of Childhood ". It is difficult to define and conceptualize Innocence of Childhood and also it is difficult for adult to assume Innocence of Childhood and write about it. But it is core tasks in nearly every area of art, including literature, to study what is Innocence of Childhood constantly and find ways to recover Innocence of Childhood and carry them into action. To be true to the name of literature on Innocence of Childhood, it must start from a good understanding and the experience in the field on Innocence of Childhood. Nevertheless, the biggest fallacy found in a number of literary works that drew the Innocence of Childhood as well as literature for children is to judge concept arbitrarily and enumerate just ideas and absurd things. The true 'Innocence of Childhood' can not be described ideally.

‘동심’을 정의하고 개념화시킨다는 것은 매우 어려운 일이다. 또한 어른들이 동심을 상정하고 글을 쓴다는 것도 매우 어려운 일이다. 그러나 ‘동심이란 무엇인가’에 대한 끊임없는 연구와 동심을 되찾기 위한 방법을 모색하고 실천 하는 것은 문학을 비롯한 모든 예술 세계에서의 핵심적인 과제가 아닐 수 동심의 정의에 대한 논의는 논의자들마다 조금씩 다르다. 아이들만의 심성으로 보는 경우도 있고 인간이라면 누구나 지녀야할 본성으로 보기도 한다. 그러나 어린아이와 같은 ‘순진함’을 전제로 한다는 점에는 이견이 없다. 이러한 ‘동심’을 스스로 그러한 ‘자연’이라고도 할 수 있을 것이다. 동심의 표현 또한 인위와 의식으로부터 벗어난 표현이라야 감동을 줄 수 있다. 이지를 비롯한 노자, 장 자 등의 동양 철학에서도 공통적으로 말하는 동심이란 ‘의식적이고 인위적인 것에서 벗어난 어린아이와 같은 무심한 상태’라 말하고 있다. 따라서 동심을 표현하기 위해서는 인간의 자연적이고 생리적이며 또한 심리적인 요구를 자연그 대로 표현할 것과 인간들이면 누구나 지니고 있는 본래의 순진한 개성을 표현해야 할 것이다.
