The purpose of this study is to explore ways to revitalize regional lifelong education in the era of science and technology. The research results are as follows. First, the meaning of the basic plan for revitalizing regional lifelong education for 2021 to 2023 is ① In the case of new designation of lifelong learning cities, there is a tendency to designate lifelong learning cities by considering balanced regional development and depopulation areas. ② In the case of specialized support, the characteristic is that it seeks to form a consortium with regional, basic, and related organizations to promote regional lifelong education. ③ In the case of performance management, the characteristic is that it is creating a framework for systematic performance management. Second, the meaning of the direction for promoting regional lifelong education from 2021 to 2023 is as follows. There are four main tasks to promote regional lifelong education from 2021 to 2023. Tasks related to designating a new lifelong learning city to establish a foundation for promoting regional lifelong learning, promoting regional lifelong education to promote balanced regional development and revitalizing the regional economy, and strategic resources related to systematic business management to promote sustainable regional lifelong education projects. This is a task related to building a lifelong learning system for distribution. Third, plans to revitalize regional lifelong education in the era of science and technology are as follows. In order to promote lifelong learning in the region, it is necessary to promote policies that increase accessibility to lifelong learning for the underprivileged and residents of towns, villages, and villages by installing lifelong learning centers at the dong and village level.

이 연구의 목적은 과학기술 시대의 지역 평생교육 활성화 방안을 탐구하는 것이다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 2021년~2023년 지역 평생교육 활성화 기본 계획의 의미는 ①평생학습 도시 신규 지정의 경우, 지역 균형 발전 과 인구소멸 지역을 고려하여 평생학습 도시를 지정하려는 경향이 있다. ②특성화 지원의 경우, 광역 평생교육 추진 을 위하여 광역과 기초 그리고 관계기관과의 컨소시엄을 형성하려는 것이 특징이다.③성과 관리의 경우, 체계적인 성 과 관리를 위한 틀을 만들고 있는 것이 특징이다. 둘째, 2021년~2023년 지역 평생교육 활성화 추진 방향의 의미는 다 음과 같다. 2021년부터 2023년 지역 평생교육 활성화 추진 방향의 과제는 크게 4가지이다. 지역의 평생학습 추진 기 반 구축을 위한 신규 평생학습 도시 지정과 관련된 과제, 지역 균형 발전과 지역의 경제 활성화를 지역 평생교육 활 성화 추진이며, 지속 가능한 지역 평생교육 사업 추진을 위한 체계적 사업관리 관련, 전략적 자원 배분을 위한 평생 학습 시스템 구축 관련된 과제이다. 셋째, 과학기술 시대 지역 평생교육 활성화 방안은 다음과 같다. 지역의 평생학습 활성화를 위해서는 동․마을 단위까지 평생학습센터를 설치하여 소외 계층과 읍·면 동 지역의 주민에게 평생학습의 접근성을 높이는 정책 추진이 필요하다.
