The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences in core competencies of college students according to grade and gender. A survey was conducted with 1,146 college students, and t-tests were used to analyze differences based on grade and gender. The findings of the study are as follows: First, significant differences were observed in most core competencies between upperclassmen and underclassmen. Second, no significant differences were found in most core competencies between male and female students. These results suggest that colleges should consider grade and gender when aiming to enhance students' core competencies. In particular, it is necessary to develop educational programs that strengthen competencies from the early years, especially for those competencies that show substantial differences based on background variables.
