This thesis is a study on the “Black Night Ritual” and Death Complex in the series “Woman” a series of poems by Zhai Yongming, a female poet with a unique and avant-garde consciousness about ‘death’ in China. “Woman” is a work that made the name Zhai Yongming known to the world and can be said to be a representative work of Chinese feminist poetry. Although there have been many studies on Zhai Yongming and “Woman” so far, most of them have been related to avant-garde femininity or feminist content, and the contents related to ‘death’ have been rarely mentioned due to cultural, historical, and social backgrounds. By analyzing the “Black Night Ritual” and the death complex centering on the 20 poems of “The Woman”, the thesis discovered and explored various complex meanings of the work. To summarize the contents and meaning of the thesis, first, we interpreted the “Black Night Ritual” theory as the relationship with ‘death’ and examined how it was projected into the work of “the Woman”. “Black Night Ritual” is a concept advocated by Zhai Yongming, which symbolizes deep psychological conflict and pain occurring in a woman’s inner world and shows the process by which women try to recognize and understand themselves. Second, the analysis of the overall content and structure of the work of “The Woman” was attempted using three main images: ‘Black Night’, ‘Death’, and ‘Complex’. ‘Death’ is an important motif in Zhai Yongming’s poem, symbolizing women’s repressed desires, fears, and limitations of self-understanding. Third, what had been interpreted from a ‘feminist’ perspective in previous studies was analyzed overall using a new perspective and framework, and through this, it was intended to understand the meaning of the series of poems wider and deeper, and to reveal the complex layers of the work. On the other hand, due to the lack of analysis of previous research results related to Zhai Yongming poetry, there is a limitation in not being able to reveal comparative literary per-spectives, such as comparisons with Chinese female poets during the same period, comparisons with foreign poets showing similar trends, and comparisons with other works of Zhai Yongming himself. Zhai Yongming is a very important female poet in modern Chinese poetry, and she hopes her poetry will be provided as an important example of how Chinese female poets perceive and express death.

이 논문은 중국에서 ‘죽음’에 관한 독특하고 전위적인 의식을 가진 여성 시인 자이융밍의 연작시 “여인”에 나타난 ‘검은 밤의 의식’과 죽음 콤플렉스에 관한 연구이다. “여인”은 자이융밍이라는 이름을 세상에 알린 작품이며, 중국 여성주의 시의 대표작이라고 할 수 있는데, 지금까지 자이융밍과 “여인”에 대한 연구는 많았지만 대부분이 전위적 여성성이나 여성주의적 내용과 관련한 부분이 많았고, ‘죽음’과 관련한 내용은 문화적, 역사적, 사회적 배경으로 인해 언급이 적은 편이었다. 논문은 “여인” 20편의 시를 중심으로 ‘검은 밤의 의식’과 ‘죽음 콤플렉스’를 분석함으로써, 작품이 가 지는 여러 복합적 의미를 발굴하고 탐구하였다. 논문의 내용과 의미를 종합해 보면, 첫째, ‘검은 밤의 의식’ 이론을 ‘죽음’과의 관련성으로 해석해 보고, 이것이 어떻게 “여인” 작품에 투영되었는지를 살펴보 았다. ‘검은 밤의 의식’은 자이융밍이 주장한 개념으로, 여성의 내면 세계에서 일어나는 깊은 심리적 갈 등과 고통을 상징하며, 여성들이 자기 자신을 인식하고 이해하려는 과정을 나타낸다. 둘째, “여인” 작품 의 전체적 내용과 구조 분석을 ‘검은 밤’, ‘죽음’, ‘콤플렉스’라는 세 가지 주요 이미지를 이용하여 시도 하였다. ‘죽음’은 자이융밍의 시에서 중요한 모티프로, 여성의 억압된 욕망, 두려움, 그리고 자기 이해의 한계를 상징한다. 셋째, 이전 연구에서 ‘여성주의’적 입장에서 해석되었던 것을 새로운 관점과 틀을 사 용하여 전체 내용을 전반적으로 분석하였고, 이를 통해 연작시의 의미를 보다 넓고 깊게 이해하고, 작품이 가지는 복잡한 층위를 드러내고자 하였다. 반면, 자이융밍 시와 관련한 이전 연구 성과에 대한 분석이 부족하여, 같은 시기 중국 여성 시인들과 의 비교, 비슷한 경향을 보이는 외국 시인들과의 비교, 자이융밍 자신의 다른 작품과의 비교 등 비교문 학적 시각을 드러내지 못한 한계가 있다. 자이융밍은 중국 현대시사에서 매우 중요한 여성 시인으로, 그녀의 시가 중국 여성 시인들이 죽음을 어떻게 인식하고 표현하는지에 대한 중요한 사례로 제공되기 를 바란다.
