Through a survey of 229 users of Facial Recognition Technology(FRT) in Chongqing, China, this study examines residents' attitudes toward FRT and the changing status of their Sense of Security after using FRT. Rapid technological advances have brought about the convenience of social life, but they have also generated hidden concerns about violating personal privacy and increasing social inequality. This study found that knowledge of Facial Recognition Technology, Environmental Risks, and Technology Risks all reduce people's Sense of Security, while Legal Governance has a positive effect on residents' Sense of Security. The study suggests that while advancing the development of Facial Recognition Technology, it should strengthen legislation regulating the application of the technology, cautiously promote the development of FRT applications, and improve the path of remedies for FRT infringement, among other suggestions.
