The purpose of this study was to investigate the chemical properties of Glabridin (GB) derived from Glycyrrhiza glabra L. and to evaluate its applicability in various industries. As a result of analyzing 59 documents dealing with the chemical properties of GB found in KCI and PubMed, GB is an isoflavan compound with various physiological activities, and its content varies depending on the growing environment and country of origin, and is mainly used as a raw material for whitening cosmetics. Various extraction methods using ethanol, supercritical carbon dioxide, ionic liquid, etc. have been studied. Optimal culture conditions and high efficiency synthesis methods have been developed for high quality GB production. Optimal environment for stability and stable human body delivery system have been studied to improve commercial applicability. It is expected that this study will be used as a basic data for more progressive research and education in order to utilize in various industries such as cosmetics in the future by grasping the research trends and major developments of GB.

본 연구는 감초 Glycyrrhiza glabra L.에서 유래한 Glabridin (GB)의 화학적 특성을 종합적으로 검토하고 다양한 산업에서의 응용 가능성 평가를 목적으로 하여 GB의 구조와 발생, 추출과 분리, 생산 및 합성, 안정성 및 활용 관련 연구결과 를 분석하였다. KCI와 PubMed 에서 검색된 GB의 화학적 특성을 다룬 59편의 문헌을 분석한 결과 GB는 다양한 생리활성을 가진 Isoflavan 화합물로, 생육 환경과 원산지에 따라 함량이 달라지고 주로 미백 화장품 원료로 사용되고 있다. 에탄올, 초임 계 이산화탄소, 이온 액체 등을 이용한 다양한 추출 방법이 연구되었고 고품질의 GB 생산을 위해 최적의 배양 조건과 고효율 합성법이 개발되었으며 안정성을 위한 최적의 환경과 안정적인 인체 전달 시스템이 연구되어 상업적 응용 가능성이 향상됐 다. 이와 같은 GB의 연구 동향과 주요 발전 사항을 파악함으로써 향후 화장품 등 다양한 산업에서 GB의 이용도를 높이기 위 해 본 연구가 더 진보적인 연구 및 교육의 기초자료로 활용될 것으로 기대한다.
